Salford City Council are looking to support Salford-based* freelance independent** creatives/creative practitioners, artists, musicians and performers with small, one off grants to support creatives to access professional development.
*applicants with a Salford postcode, whether home or business.
**freelance or sole trader – no small organisations.
Grants of £250 – 500 are available to support with costs such as:
Materials/equipment | For example, kit for your art form or technology (laptop, tablet, phone) and equipment that will allow you to access courses and apply the learning to your work. |
Training course fees | These courses can be run in Salford and wider across the UK or worldwide, with the view that you will bring this knowledge gained back to your creative practice in Salford. |
Travel costs associated with CPD opportunities | This means costs on public transport (buses, trains, trams, ferries). If you would like to apply for a contribution towards fuel, please calculate the estimated cost at £0.45 per mile. For cyclists, please calculate the estimated cost at £0.20 per mile. |
Child/dependent care costs associated with CPD opportunities | This means the cost of care for your child or dependent person (e.g. childminder, carer) to cover the time you are attending a course or training opportunity. If you would like to apply for this, provide a quote from a provider. |
Professional fees that support CPD | This means costs that will support you in being a professional in Salford’s creative sector, for example web design. |
These grants are not intended to support project or event costs.
