Volunteer Opportunities
The National Literacy Trust supports families with young children to help them develop the literacy skills they need to get the most out of life. We need local people to share that literacy is for everyone, and to bring this to life across the community through events and activities for children aged 4-12.
Volunteering with us is flexible and our Literacy Champions come from all walks of life. Some are in employment, some are not; we have parents, child-minders, electricians, bus drivers, youth workers, nurses, and the list goes on! We call our volunteers Literacy Champions, not because they have to be the best at literacy, but because they understand that it matters and want to make a difference.
Volunteering might involve:
• Opportunity to lead your own events and projects that improve literacy with help from the National Literacy Trust in Salford
• Gift books at events and in communities
• Supporting the National Literacy Trust in Salford at local events
