Opportunity hosted by: Dancing with Dementia
Description:

Purpose of the role Dancing with Dementia is a social dance/entertainment group for people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers. The aim of the charity is to enhance, enrich and prolong the lives of people living with dementia, their family, friends and carers through music and dance. We embrace anyone who feels lonely or isolated and encourage them to come along to our sessions and have fun, make new friends, and welcome them to our Dancing with Dementia family. Music reaches the part of the brain that triggers wonderful memories, takes people back to their youth and special years and events in their life. Our work, along with others from across the UK, reminds us of all the ways fantastic volunteers are contributing to their communities and working to make life better for those around them.
In 2024 we were awarded The King's Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a local voluntary groups can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.
As a charity, we continue to grow and expand our services and as such, we are looking for someone to help support the Treasurer in their duties.

The Grand Palais dance sessions, are held every second Monday of the month (12pm until 3.30pm) and the role will be a mix of talking to and welcoming service users, assisting other volunteers with the raffle and importantly, some banking / cash handling / admin for the Treasurer. With our support, this is a role we hope you can grow into and develop along the way.

Our volunteers are foundational to our success, and we could not operate without their enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in. So, if would like to be part of an amazing team and ‘get stuck in’ with us, come along and have a chat.
