Volunteer Opportunities
Our Wayfinder befriending volunteers support people with experience of homelessness, to manage their current tenancies and empower them to take charge of their lives. Your support would make a huge difference in ensuring an individual can increase their knowledge, skills and confidence while feeling supported by a friendly volunteer.
As a Wayfinder volunteer, you will be matched up with a participant and arrange with them to meet every 1 or 2 weeks. You will be someone who's got life experience to share and be willing to offer a listening ear as well as practical support. You will be lone working during your meetings but will have access to support and training from the Wayfinder coordinator.
This is a long term volunteering role, Volunteers will provide regular support to Participants, minimum 2 hours over a fortnight. Meetings will be primarily in person but also remote. The period participants will receive support will be determined by themselves and their needs.
In return you will get access to dedicated support from your Wayfinder coordinator, regular reflection spaces and training opportunities. Volunteering for wayfinder isn’t just about supporting others to improve their skills, but committing to developing your own as well.
