Following our recent email regarding this year’s Salford ICP Quality Improvement Fellowship programme, please note that applications are set to close this week, with no new applications being accepted after Sunday 30th June.
To recap on what this offer entails….
This will be the fourth cohort of our 12-month intensive QI learning and development programme. It will formally begin on the 5th September 2025, and there are 6 places available for staff who are working in health and care organisations in Salford within either Primary Care, Social Care, Community, VCSE or Public Health settings.
Fellows will undertake a core curriculum of CPD-accredited training sessions on QI theory and a series of additional training modules on key supplementary skills and knowledge areas. They will gain experience of putting this knowledge into practice through delivering at least one improvement project within their service during the course of the programme, supported by ongoing mentorship.
At a time when the system is tasked with making significant changes and improvements, the QI skillset and ability to assess problems, to plan and deliver robust, targeted interventions in practice and to evaluate their impact is more important than ever. This year, we ask that applicants proposed topic areas (to focus their projects on) align with the seven Salford system transformation priorities.
This is a training and support offer worth over £7,000, with the cost fully funded by Salford ICP. We ask that employers commit to protected time of one day per week for the course of the programme for Fellows to attend training sessions (focused in the first half of the year) and to deliver at least one improvement project within their service/department. Those of you already familiar with the scheme will note that in previous years we had been able to offer some backfill support. Unfortunately system pressures across GM prevent us from being able to offer additional monies this year. However, we have increased the level and value of the training offer provided to ensure maximum value to the services employing staff who undertake a Fellowship this year.
