Would you like to join the Greater Manchester Older People’s Network?

The Greater Manchester Older People’s Network aims to be a representative voice of people aged 50+ living and working within Greater Manchester.

We aim to make sure that people can influence policy, strategy and services that will affect them and that people can use their experience to have a positive impact. We believe that our voices are stronger together.  The network has around 500 members across Greater Manchester and includes voluntary members and organisations that represent older people. We meet, act and work on projects, using our experiences to make things better for everyone. We challenge ageism and campaign for change.  It is free to join the Network, either as an individual member (resident or working in Greater Manchester and aged 50+) or as an organisational representative (working within an organisation with a focus on or interest in older people).  As a member you will hear about all our opportunities to get involved in projects and events. The Network has regular opportunities to hear your views, through our working groups on Health and Social Care, Housing and Neighbourhoods and Transport and Out and About – these meetings are every two months on Zoom.  We also have regular face to face meet ups, social events and various participation opportunities where you can share your views and get your voice heard.  We also work closely with the GM Older People’s Mental Health Network (Mature Minds Matter) and the GM Older People’s Equality Panel.

Help the GM Older People’s Network hear the views of people aged 50+ across Greater Manchester by completing our short survey
The GMOPN is always seeking to become more representative and inclusive.  With this in mind we want to hear the views of people aged 50+ from across the city region.  We would like to hear your views about your priorities, whether this is from personal experience or as an advocate for those people you work with.  We want to make sure that the work we do and the ways we do this is as reflective as possible of the diverse concerns and preferences of people aged 50+ in our city region.  Please help us by spending 5-10 minutes of your time completing our survey.  Click here to take the survey.   The survey is open until 11th March 2024.

If you work with people aged 50+ who would find it difficult to complete the survey online, you can request paper copies of this survey by contacting GMOPN@macc.org.uk.  Please let us know how many copies you would like and your address and we will send some to you.
