Salford CVS are pleased to announce that Seldom Heard will return this September for the 2024 event with some exciting new changes.
The purpose of ‘Seldom Heard’ is to enable young people's voices; their concerns, their issues and their experiences of life in Salford – to be heard by city and civic leaders. We put those leaders face to face with young people to discuss a theme, after which the leaders make pledges on ways they can improve conditions for all those living across Salford.
Salford CVS have been facilitating conversations with young people and city leaders for a number of years now and this year's event will offer a slightly different format, to ensure a greater quality of conversation.
We will be starting the event with last year’s, 'You Said, We Did', where city leaders will be able to feedback on their actions following on from 2023’s pledges. This will be followed by a new theme and conversation. We hope this will allow both city leaders and young people to see and hear the benefits of the conversation in one inspiring and impactful event.
Theme: This year’s theme is 'Life beyond education' and we will be looking at employment, life skills and world readiness.
