Salford4Good is led by Salford CVS working in partnership with Salford City Council and partners across the city to raise funds for local good causes.
Our Current Campaign – Cost of Living Response
This year we've seen the cost of living crisis go from bad to worse. Food prices have jumped massively, energy bills are more than doubling, and transport and housing costs are on the rise. Whilst many of us have needed to make difficult budget choices, some people in our communities are increasingly being pushed into real crisis, struggling to heat their homes and put food on the table, so are getting into serious debt or having to go without. The Salford4Good cost of living appeal has been set up to raise funds for local frontline charities and community groups – so that they in turn can carry on supporting Salford residents, whether it’s by providing food, helping keep homes warm, looking after children, giving advice and guidance, and so on. We know times are tough, but your donation - no matter how big or small - will help us make a real difference.
Paul Dennett, elected City Mayor of Salford, said, “Salford4Good is all about utilising local opportunities for local causes. With the country facing a cost of living crisis, it has never been more pressing to ensure Salford’s vibrant VCSE sector can continue to do the invaluable work of supporting communities across our city. The launch of this fantastic resource will provide another crucial link across Salford’s VCSE system and ensure the essential work of the sector goes to support those who need it most.”
Alison Page, Chief Executive of Salford CVS, who have set up the appeal, said, “You can DONATE by visiting our Just Giving appeal page – it’s quick and easy to do and every pound helps!”

How others have supported Salford4Good
Art Battle MCR held an amazing event at Media City where 10 artist battled against each other to be voted the winner by the audience. The art work was then auctioned and 50% of the proceeds went to Salford4Good. £1619 was raised for the Cost of Living Crisis Fund!
Elephant Juice and Salford Battle of the Band winners Bl$$ch held a charity gig for the fund. They put on a great performance and helped to raise over £2,250 for the Salford4Good Cost of Living Crisis Fund! It was a family affair with Rob Murphy, from Elephant Juice being followed onto the stage by his daughter performing in Bleech. The venue and bands were very kindly supplied for free and a number of brilliant raffle prizes were donated. Thank you to everyone who supported, performed, donated, attended and brought raffle tickets - it is very much appreciated and will help us to support the vital work of community groups and organisations in Salford. Barton Athletic Club held a fundraiser for Salford4Good via a weightlifting competition in December 2022. Competitor fees were donated to Salford4Good as well as a fundraising raffle on the day. John Lightfoot, of Barton Athletic Club, said, “Salford4Good has helped our club in the past, they helped us to raise money to construct the building that our club is currently based in. We’re hoping to give back to the charity after they supported us. We’ve done charity events before but we haven’t been able to hold them for a long time as we had to put as much money as possible into our new building. Thanks to the support that Salford4Good gave us we’re glad to be raising money for charity again.”
