Resolve Poverty Training Sessions

Resolve Poverty have three open trainings which are called: Tackling Poverty with Data, Valuing Lived Experience and Maximising Household Income.

Tackling Poverty With Data

Understand what data tells us about poverty in the UK, how to find this data and how to use it to build effective responses to poverty.
Date of Training: 19th September and 10th and 11th October
Times and venues: 19th of September (In-person: 10am-4pm), 10th and 11th October (online for both days: 9.30am-12.30 pm)

Who's it for?

Local government, public sector and VCFSE organisations interested in better understanding and using data which tells us how poverty affects people and communities

What you’ll learn:

The importance of data in designing responses to poverty. Recent UK poverty trends, and what data tells us about how poverty affects different groups of people. The tools we can use to gather and interpret poverty data and support people in poverty.

Cost: £180 online / £200 in-person (£120 / £133 for VCFSE & small organisations)

Valuing Lived Experience

Learn better practice in engaging with people with lived experience of poverty

Dates of Training: 23rd August and 20th September

Time and Venues: 23rd August (Online: 10am-4pm) 20th September (In-person)

Who's it for?

Anyone aiming to better understand the value of lived experience engagement in tackling poverty, and the practicalities of developing and managing lived experience engagement activities

What you’ll learn:

Insights into our work engaging with people with lived experience of poverty in order to develop responses to poverty.

Practical support on how to set up and facilitate lived experience spaces and how to use these spaces to enhance your work.

Best practice around ensuring safety of attendees, recognising multiple disadvantage and listening to and valuing people we work with.

Maximising Household Income

Understand our social security system and the financial support available to help people find and access what they're entitled to

Dates of Training: 4th-5th September, 4th October

Time and Venues: 4th-5th September (Online for both days; 9.30am-12.30pm), 4th October (In-person: 10am-4pm)

Who's it for?

Local government, public sector and VCFSE organisations looking to better understand the types of financial support available in the UK, including the social security system

What you’ll learn:

How to understand the social security system. Sources of financial support for people on low incomes and how to access them. How to develop your organisation’s approach to help maximise people’s income.

Cost: £180 online (£120 for VCFSE & small organisations)
