Refugee Week 2024 – Salford CVS recognises organisations that support the most vulnerable

To mark Refugee Week in our city, Salford CVS is making donations (from its own funds) to eight local voluntary, community and charitable organisations that are doing great work to support refugees fleeing war, persecution and domestic violence in their country of origin.

Refugee Week (17th–23rd June) is the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking asylum. Salford CVS supports Refugee Week and the movement to ensure safe passage and a warm welcome to Salford, a city of sanctuary.

Donations of £1,000 each, have been made to the following organisations to support their ongoing work.

Collectively, these organisations assist refugees with essential support including translation and interpretation, learning English, navigating the health system, and addressing the mental health impacts of trauma and separation.
