We’re looking for someone passionate and proactive to lead and coordinate the development of Beyond Empowers Community Outreach offer, and open up opportunities for disabled people to access local activity of interest.
In the early stages, you’ll directly support and bring together groups of disabled people to access health, wellbeing, and social activities that interest them.
As the service grows, you’ll take a lead in recruiting and supporting others to provide this direct support—enabling you to focus on coordinating and developing the wider offer long-term.
You’ll work closely with a range of key stakeholders—such as current and potential users, parent and carer forums, social and healthcare professionals, education providers, and community organisations—to raise awareness, generate referrals, and support the growth of the service.
You’ll be someone who can engage and communicate effectively at all levels, is creative and adaptable in your approach, and is comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team.
You’ll need the resilience and confidence to navigate occasional challenges, and a commitment to personal learning and development.
Travel around Salford and nearby areas is required, as is flexibility to meet the needs of those you support.
This is a new post within a new area of work. For the right person, it offers a real opportunity to shape the role and contribute to a more diverse, person-centred community social care landscape—one that offers greater choice, variety, and better outcomes for disabled people.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, and particularly encourage disabled people to apply.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for the successful applicant. However, having a criminal record is not necessarily a barrier to being offered this role.
Please note, although the job is a two-year fixed term at this point, there is a possible two-year extension . In addition, the success of the service will mean the role is sustainable longer-term.
The application can be completed via Beyond Empowers website here - Form - Community Social Care Coordinator Vacancy
