Plan today so you can vote in July

You can help shape the country’s future by choosing who you want to represent you nationally as their Member of Parliament (MP). Make sure you’re ready to have your say on Thursday 4th July. Visit www.salford.gov.uk/generalelection to find out more.

First you must be registered to vote which only takes a few minutes and your national insurance number. If you’re not going to be around on polling day you can apply for a postal vote or a proxy vote, before Wednesday 26 June, which is when you ask someone you trust to cast your vote for you.

To vote in a polling station, you must show an acceptable form of photo ID and if you don’t have one, apply online by Wednesday 26 June for a free Voter Authority Certificate (VAC).

If you need help accessing the government portal for a VAC, please pop into your local gateway centre, a one stop shop for a wide range of council and community services. Located across Salford in SwintonEcclesPendletonWalkden and Broughton they have free internet and are open late every weekday.
