As a Foodbank within the Trussell Trust network we strive to offer more than just food when people visit one of our centres. Our teams of volunteers help to offer a warm welcome, a friendly smile, a warming cup of tea plus additional support to help people resolve the crises they’re facing. For the past two years we have worked in partnership with Salford Citizens Advice with an advisor based at most of our Foodbank centres. The advisors provide compassionate, practical support to people in crisis so that they can tackle the issues they’re facing and won’t need to use a food bank again in the future.
We are delighted to share that we have recently received funding to extend our project with Salford Citizens Advice. We will now have an advisor based in the main foyer area at Broughton Hub and Swinton Gateway exclusively for Salford Foodbank clients at the following times;
Broughton Hub, M7 4BQ
- Mondays 12-4
- Fridays 9-1
Swinton Gateway, M27 6BP
- Tuesdays 12-4
- Thursdays 9-1
The attached postcard will be handed out to anyone picking up a food parcel from Swinton Gateway and Broughton Hub to let them know about the new service. Please share this information with anyone you are currently supporting when you are issuing them a Foodbank voucher for either centre. The advisors are on hand to help with housing issues, debt, benefit checks, accessing courses and energy and cost of living support.
