The Salford CVS office will close at 4.30pm on Thursday 23rd December 2021.
We will resume our regular office hours (9am - 4.30pm) from Tuesday 4 January 2022.

Manchester Jewish Community Services Directory
The Federation of Jewish Services (The Fed) has researched and published the Manchester Jewish Services Directory on behalf of the Manchester Jewish Community Strategic Group. The directory is a one-stop-shop for community support and has details of 39 vital organisations. This directory was originally published in 2020 and an updated version will be published in early 2022.

Salford Foodbank
Salford Foodbank will be offering a limited service between Christmas and New Year.
Salford Foodbank centres will be closed from 2.00pm on Friday 24th December until Tuesday 4th January 2022.
However, Swinton and Walkden Gateways and Broughton Hub will be open on 29th, 30th and 31st of December from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
Foodbank Voucher Codes will be honoured at these three venues..

Wood Street Mission
In December 2021 Wood Street Mission are currently only receiving referrals for the Christmas project and the Family Basics service will resume in the New Year.
At Christmas Wood Street Mission can help with gifts for your children. You need to be referred to Wood Street Mission by a professional who knows your family’s circumstances well – for example, someone at your child’s school, a social worker, health visitor, midwife, or support worker. They will need to send us a form which they can find on the For Referrers page.
Street Support
Street Support Network have put together an extensive list of advice for anyone who would like to get help in Greater Manchester. Their advice covers anything from homelessness, access to food, healthcare, and housing support.

Test and Trace Support Payment
Salford residents who have received a notification to self-isolate from NHS Test and Trace on or after 28 September 2020 may be eligible for a test and trace support payment of £500. People can apply for this payment if they can demonstrate that ALL five of the following criteria apply to them:
- I have received an NHS Test and Trace notification on or after Monday 28 September 2020 either because I have tested positive for coronavirus or have recently been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.
- I am currently employed or self-employed.
- I am unable to work from home.
- I will lose income during the period that I am required to self-isolate.
- I am currently in receipt of Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, income-based Employment and Support Allowance, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Housing Benefit and/or Pension Credit.

NHS and Pharmacies
If you feel unwell over the holidays your first call should be to NHS 111. This is free to call from landlines and mobiles, open 24 hours, seven days a week. Your symptoms will be assessed on the call and you will be advised where to go if you need further advice / treatment, such as an out-of-hours GP or pharmacy.

Winter Fun Activities
Come and join our fantastic free winter fun sessions during the Christmas school holidays! There is craft, dance, drama, baking, football, rugby, gym and swim passes, skateboarding, Panto and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at The Lowry. All sessions are free, they include lunch and are delivered by brilliant local Salford organisations and community groups. There are lots of sessions available in all areas of the city. The sessions are for children eligible for free school meals in school years from Reception to Year 11.
