Salford Community Leisure are hosting Free Workshops which will be delivered by Street Games. 'Mental Health Conversations' will explore the basics of what Mental Health is, what good Mental Health looks like and some of the resource tools the clubs/groups can use to support young people and adults with Mental Health issues. The candidates on the workshop will also be given information on where to refer people in Salford and what organisations are available to support them.
The workshops will be held in the evening and last for approx. two hours. A certificate of attendance and refreshments will be provided.
Some feedback from the pilot held last year from the clubs involved:
“The workshop was very informative, relevant for sports clubs and we were made aware of good practice when dealing with mental health issues”.
“It was good to listen to other sports clubs and how they deal with members with mental health issues, I realised that we weren’t on our own when helping people within our club”.
Each club/group will be offered up to two places on the workshop free of charge. Please identify any volunteers who would like to attend (ideally one place should be given to the club child welfare officer/s).
There are a maximum of 20 places on each workshop, please register now to avoid disappointment, these places will book up very quickly.
To book on a workshop please email paul.thomas@scll.co.uk with your name and which workshop you would like to attend.
