An Enterprise and Learning Manager is being recruited as part of a team expansion, possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery and expansion of a range of Social Enterprise Support contracts. This is a key role in our team to help develop and manage the coordination and delivery of a range of enterprise and community learning programmes, events and activities. Plus aid with the development of new online resources and services expansion, whilst aid the growth and sustainability of the organisation longer term. You will help build on our successful track record and impact to date, whilst help design and create new initiatives, building partnerships with a range of organsiations and investment sources, all with the goal of supporting diverse women changemakers and communities to create positive social change. The successful candidate will work alongside our Managing Director and small team, wider specialist delivery partners and associates, to co-design, implement, administrate, promote and evaluate social and community enterprise support for the future and help increase our reach, impact and sustainability, to unlock latent talent and accelerate the growth of the social economy in Greater Manchester, the North West and beyond. The successful candidate for this role will need to have 5 years+ in a previous similar role and be able to operate independently and conscientiously and be able to work remotely, as well as on site within our Flourish Hub. Flourish Together is a fast-paced, creative, community facing and socially motivated organisation. Alongside these qualities, you’ll have strong communication, operational and event co-ordination experience with excellent interpersonal skills. ENTERPRISE PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT
- Design and implement innovative enterprise programmes with a focus on creating opportunities for supporting diverse women changemakers and communities, to create positive and sustainable social change. To enable individuals to develop entrepreneurial skills, both online and face to face.
- Deliver innovative, accessible and effective learning activities, including the creation of resources to aid with social and community enterprise support.
- Carry out research and marketing to enable appropriate promotion and outreach of programmes and learning activities/events to achieve programme and partner goals.
- Manage internal and external teams, associates and resources to achieve these goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with wider social and community enterprise infrastructure support, agencies and consultants, to aid with good signposting to wider support, plus foster strong peer support practices to strengthen support for social entrepreneurs and women changemakers more broadly.
- Liaise with Finance to ensure programmes and events are carried out within budget requirements.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- Develop and deliver leadership training programmes aimed at building strong, resilient leaders within the community.
- Foster a culture of leadership and mentorship to enhance personal and professional growth
- Develop and maintain relationships with cross- sector strategic leaders across Greater Manchester and beyond to aid with creating access to opportunities, mentoring and enable the organisation and those we support to influence and innovate positive social change
LEARNING INITIATIVES AND ACTIVITIES
- Design and deliver learning and support for women changemakers, wider social entrepreneurs and those who support social enterprise and community development.
- Create and manage learning initiatives, including activities, events, tools and resources which align with Flourish Together’s mission and values.
- Implement effective learning strategies to enhance participants’ skills and knowledge across highly diverse communities.
- Provide and broker a combination of action learning, coaching and mentoring development, as well as supervision of any external associates delivering learning and development on behalf of the organisation and ensuring core competencies are met.
- Support the development of online learning resources and help implement a new online learning portal.
EVENT DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT
- Design and delivery of creative and engaging online and offline; community events, showcasing/market place opportunities and thematic conferences.
- Creation of appropriate promotion and effective logistics plans to deliver smooth, seamless and cost effective events to diverse audiences.
- Procurement and purchasing of social and ethical suppliers to ensure investment back in communities and protection of the environment where possible.
- Strong, clear and supportive communication pre, during and post event.
- Recruitment and co-ordination of appropriate volunteers where needed to assist with events and create opportunities for others.
COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIP
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses, Housing Associations, Local Authorities, educational, health and other statutory institutions, VCSE infrastructure agencies and community organisations to unlock investment and resources, as well as enhance outreach, delivery and impact of programmes and initiatives.
- Collaborate with external experts to bring diverse perspectives, expertise and wider opportunities, to enterprise and leadership programmes.
MONITORING, EVALUATION AND IMPACT MEASUREMENT
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of enterprise and leadership programmes.
- Regularly review programme outcomes and adjust strategies to maximise effectiveness.
- Complete service evaluations, impact assessments and funder/commissioner reports as required.
Support with the creation of internal social value reports and summaries for Flourish Together as well as for external clients. - Create and implement a range of qualitative and quantitative data gathering techniques from surveys, to interviews, focus groups and wider creative methods, to aid with internal and external monitoring and evaluation for impact and value measurement.
- Support the development of network of social ventures who are collectively gathering impact and value data for research, policy influencing and sustainability purposes.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND NETWORK BUILDING
- Act as liaison between Flourish Together and the community, ensuring programmes meet the needs of diverse audiences.
- Organise community events and workshops to promote awareness of enterprise and leadership
opportunities. - Represent Flourish Together, our partners and our community at a range of local and strategic events.
- Support the facilitation of our wider network of changemakers which aids with connection building/brokering, the development or wider complementary opportunities, maintaining consistency of support and impact, plus fosters a culture of reciprocal peer support.
BID AND CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
- Research and keep abreast of relevant current funding, commissioning and tender opportunities which would enable Flourish Together to achieve its Mission and Goals.
- Work with the wider team to evolve our Funding Strategy as part of our wider Income Generation activities, to create well informed and structured bids to secure annual income targets and innovate new programmes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a range of local and national funders, commissioners and investors.
- Work collaboratively with our networks and wider partners to spot opportunities for joint working, collective bid opportunities and to secure resources to invest in our community of women changemakers to innovate a strong social economy.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Strong project management skills to aid with ad hoc projects from time to time which enable us to achieve our goals and mission, innovate and pilot new initiatives and also help sustain the organisation and/or Flourish Hub
- Effective planning, time management, reflection and budgeting skills
CONSULTANCY PROJECT DELIVERY
- As part of our mixed income generation model working with our small social enterprise consultancy, you will be expected to secure several consultancy project opportunities focussed around business development, organisational development and research/policy work with emerging and established VCSE organisation. These discreet consultancy projects take place beyond our core funded programme activities and aid with sustainability of roles and the organisation. A targeted number will be delivered per year within your contract, however there is scope to exceed that and be remunerated accordingly.
- Support with on-boarding, developing and brokering our pool of specialist associate consultants to aid with delivery of programmes, project and consultancy.
FLOURISH HUB PROMOTION AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
- Support with promotion of our co-working, meeting and office space. This will include online and offline promotion, creation of blogs and carrying out tours of the space from time to time.
- Designing and delivering learning and social events and activities, to aid with income generation within the space.
- Support the team with day to day tasks, be based in the hub a minimum of 2-3 days per week and provide cover for those based more permanently in the hub from time to time.
FLOURISH ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
- Attend internal and external meetings and act as ambassador for the organisation.
- Support the Managing Director with specific projects and deputise from time to time such as covering annual leave periods.
- Support with the operational running of our systems where requested which may include digital, financial and supporting training and inducting wider team members and new team members.
- In addition to the above, we may ask you to carry out any such reasonable tasks that we may require from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the organisation and Flourish Hub.
