Volunteer Opportunities
Did you know that Manchester has between 30,000 and 50,000 unpaid carers? Unpaid carers support a relative, a friend or a neighbour, who needs help to manage daily life. They need help because of physical or mental illness, disability, frailty or addiction.
There's also a range of organisations that support unpaid carers in Manchester. Most of these collect valuable information about what carers need. We want to capture and record this information. This will enable us to identify gaps in services and develop actions to address them. We also work with carers to develop projects and address issues that they are dealing with.
Carers Manchester research volunteers gather information from a range of sources, supporting us to evaluate projects and with support, identify gaps in service provision for carers in Manchester. You'll need to think critically and communicate effectively with our team and other organisations supporting carers in Manchester.
