Description:

Are you interested in supporting families whilst gaining new skills and being a valued member of a welcoming team? We are looking for warm, supportive, and friendly people to join our new Family Hub volunteering team! We are looking for volunteers to support the Chat, Play, Read sessions – delivered by Salford City Council to provide parents/carers support to help their little ones develop early speech and language skills.

This opportunity would be great for anyone who is interested in gaining skills in early help as there may be opportunities for learning more about speech and language development and assessment. You would be volunteering alongside partners from Salford City Council, Salford CVS and community organisations. Volunteers will engage with families and help them get the most out of the sessions.

Examples of some activities that volunteers may carry out include:
• Greeting families and making them feel welcome
• Registering first-time families
• Taking attendance at the groups
• Helping session leaders and supporting families
• Handing out and collecting books
• Keeping spaces clean and tidy
• Answering questions about Family Hubs
