Salford Literacy Symposium at Media City
Mon 30th Jun 2025 10am-5pm at University of Salford, Quays, Media City B4, Orange Tower, M50 2HE
If you are a community leader or group member interested in the power of reading and writing, literacy teaching, story and narrative, you are invited to claim a free ticket for the first Salford Literacy symposium. At this free, catered, one-day event, we will join together with librarians, creative practitioners, academics and teachers to get inspired by examples of great work and explore how reading for pleasure and creative writing can enrich lives.
This event is organised by The Northern School of Writing at The University of Salford, in partnership with The National Literacy Trust.
A day of CPD activity and educator networking, The Salford Literacy Symposium will offer the opportunity to explore urgent pedagogical topics and form new links with community organisers, artists and academics at the University. Our aim is to build upon your existing networks in schools and refresh our motivation and mission to transform the prospects of our whole community through literacy and literary work.
The day will be of interest to teachers working across, primary, secondary and FE. The event will be opened by the Vice Chancellor of the University and Jackie Kay - poet, novelist, children's author and former Scot's Makar. Panels and keynotes TBA.
Free Tickets are limited in number. Please distribute this ticket link widely and click through for more information.
