Does your group or organisation own or lease a community venue in Salford? Are you interested in installing a publicly-available defibrillator on an external wall?

Salford CVS is looking to support voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations to apply to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)’s Community Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Fund, by covering the cost of 1) the £750 match funding required by the DHSC, 2) installing the AED and cabinet, and 3) AED training for staff and/or volunteers.

Five grants of £1,500 will be awarded across the five health neighbourhoods in Salford (Broughton; Eccles and Irlam; Ordsall and Claremont; Walkden and Little Hulton; and Swinton).

This fund is open to:

  • Voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations.
  • All organisations must be a pre-existing member of Salford CVS. To apply for membership please visit: www.salfordcvs.co.uk/membership-0
  • Organisations must also a) own a community venue in Salford, or b) lease a Salford City Council or NHS-owned community venue (or space within the venue) with at least 5 years remaining on the lease.
  • The community venue must have an external wall that is accessible to the public at all times (i.e. 24/7).
  • Organisations must be willing to appoint two Defibrillator Guardians, who will be responsible for checking the AED regularly and logging checks on the national defibrillator network, The Circuit.
  • Organisations must not have an AED currently installed at their venue.

Closing date: 12.00pm (noon) on Monday 29th January. Grants are primarily being awarded on a first come, first served basis so apply as soon as possible for the best chance of success.
