Organisation description: We are a well established Morris Dancing team based at Connect Church in Eccles. We train every Tuesday and compete in weekly competitions around the North West of the UK and attend an annual championships in October each year. We try to keep costs down for our dancers and their families and aim to keep subscriptions fees as low as possible to retain dancers and a high level of attendance, to do this we require funding and sponsorship to allow for financial inclusion. We also welcome families who foster care and provide support for vulnerable groups, being part of a team and the relationships that are developed through dancing together plays a big part in the children’s lives.
The majority of our dancers are local social housing tenants and this activity helps to encourage community spirit and team building. As this is a physical activity, we also promote fitness and healthy living to children and adults of all ages through our weekly training and dance competitions. Following lockdown, we have worked extremely hard to rebuild our local dance team and recruit children and young adults from the area to join our competitive hobby.
