They will do this through making posters, key rings, badges, flyers and also sharing their own experience of hate crime. Special Snowflake Avalanche, display and performance. |
This project involves creating a large-scale visual display to critique bigotry and prejudice, and promote the strength of the marginalised members of Salford’s community. The term ‘special snowflake’ (or just ‘snowflake’) has recently gained popularity as an insult aimed at members of marginalised communities, especially young people who want social progress. It is used to accuse people of being ‘overly sensitive whiners,’ ‘too easily offended,’ and/or too in need of ‘safe spaces’ like youth groups or Hate Crime Awareness Week events. |
