Like the rest of the country, Greater Manchester faces closely linked climate and biodiversity emergencies. Locally and nationally – we know we all need to do more to support the recovery of nature and increase the benefits it provides to our people and our economy.
Greater Manchester Combined Authority is currently developing a Local Nature Recovery Strategy, a new plan for nature, to set out our local ambitions for nature.
You can read more about how the Local Nature Recovery Strategy is being developed here.
Why your views matter
Anyone can have a part to play in shaping the strategy, so that we can get it right for Greater Manchester.
As we develop the strategy, we would like to hear your views on:
- What you think about the current state of nature in Greater Manchester
- What you think a more nature friendly Greater Manchester should look like
- What actions you would like included in the strategy and those that you might be able to take locally
We will use your response to shape our list of priorities for nature recovery and help make decisions about what interventions are most achievable across Greater Manchester.
Please fill in our pre-consultation survey and let us know what are your priorities for nature recovery. This survey should take between 5-10 minutes to complete, depending on how much detail you wish to provide.
Closes: 30th April 2024
A further formal public consultation on the strategy will take place late in 2024.
