Salford Lunen Churches Partnership
Categories of Work: Arts & Culture and Heritage, Befriending, Community development, Faith and/or religion
Who do you work with?: All Client Groups, Faith communities, Families and/or parents
Organisation description: Based on the town twinning between Salford and Lunen (Germany), the partnership caters for the churches of the two cities (Protestant/Catholic in Lunen, Anglican/Methodist/Catholic/URC/Quakers/Baptist in Salford). However, it is open to all who are interested, whether they have any faith affiliation or none.
The main activity is one delegation visit each year, in alternating directions, normally for adults of all ages, which explore social issues of importance in both the UK and Germany. In addition there are occasional family holidays, and visits and tours by choirs and bands.
The objectives are personal development for those taking part as visitors and hosts, and the growth of international friendship and understanding.
