Organisation description: Collabo2Succeed was established in 2023 to work directly with women experiencing disadvantage due to socio economic deprivation, ethnicity or culture. We use art, creativity and enterprise to develop wide ranging skills and opportunities for change. Collabo2Succeed, is run by a committed board of directors, who understand the impact of exclusion and disadvantage on the lives of women and the wider community. We strive to ensure the individuals we work with are equipped to play an active role within their communities and society in general.
Our project will support women to access Art and Enterprise training aimed at providing an:
introduction to creative/artistic skills
understanding of different artistic mediums
introduction to enterprise and development of entrepreneurial skills
confidence and self-reliance
The planned programme includes a broad range of art activities to encourage creativity, balanced with sessions designed to develop entrepreneurial skills and recognise opportunities for enterprise development through artwork, as well as ideas creation, and problem solving skills. We vary delivery by blending activities to suit all abilities and ensure engagement throughout. The project encourages creativity and self-expression from learners of mixed ability. Sessions are delivered on a weekly basis to build continuity and a strong group dynamic over a period of 4-6 weeks. The training uses a learner-centred approach ensuring specific needs of those returning to learning, are accommodated. Tutors adapt the programme content to meet individual needs, promoting confidence and commitment from learners. On successful completion of all elements of the programme, learners will receive a completion certificate. In addition, with the agreement of learners their artwork will form part of a rolling programme of Collabo2Succeed art exhibitions, which have taken place Oct 2023, July - Sept 2024 and the third exhibition will be at Central Library July - Sept 2025.
