Organisation description: Rhema Place is a community-based non-profit organisation focused on family and community engagement for mental health education, support, advocacy and change for the Black and Ethnic Minorities. At Rhema Place, we advocate for needs-based, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed mental health support services for parents and young people from BAME backgrounds. We believe that meeting the mental health needs of young people and creating awareness needs significant financial and professional investment that is sustained throughout the young person’s life. Young people with mental health issues have much to contribute to society. It is our responsibility to allow that contribution to flourish.
Rhema Place is a Black and Ethnic Minority mental health community-based interest company based in Manchester, designed to create mental health awareness within the BAME community. Every year, one in four BAME will experience a mental health problem.
At Rhema Place, we engage people from BAME backgrounds in the development and delivery of culturally appropriate mental health services, to facilitate a better understanding of mental health conditions, and improve access through effective communication strategies to deliver individually tailored and culturally sensitive care.
We are here to provide the support, advice, tools, and techniques you need to help you take control of your life. We believe in people having a choice in mental health care and we value the experiences of those who have had a mental health difficulty at some point in their life. Coming from a BAME background, we understand how difficult it can be to make the first step in asking for support, Rhema Place provides a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment in which you can be fully open and honest.
