Organisation description: Volition Community is a volunteer programme which is focused on moving the long-term unemployed in to employment via volunteering. Established in 2012, we recruit in the region of 120 long-term unemployed onto a programme each year using the Jobcentres across the ten local authorities of Greater Manchester. Based at Manchester and Salford Cathedrals we incorporate the a number of activities as part in an initial 10 week programme. During this period we endeavour to secure between 30% to 50% into training and employment. Through this process we work with our local college provider to provide one day training and employability support each week
