Organisation description: Salford Hongkongers CIC (SHK CIC) is a non-profit organisation founded by Hongkongers who relocated to the UK recently. Founders of SHK CIC understand the day-to-day difficulties of new immigrants and also value the importance of their smooth integration to the local community. SHK CIC believes in the value of diversity and inclusion. The organisation is established to facilitate smooth integration of newly relocated Hongkongers into the local community in Salford. Currently, SHK CIC has already networked 1200 Hongkongers residing in Salford through its messaging app platform and the number is growing every month. SHK CIC does not limit its service inside Salford. It is running a nationwide hotline service to provide timely support to those in need. The hotline run by over 40 voluntary healthcare professionals and helping professionals from Hongkong. The hotline service also benefited the volunteers by providing them the opportunity to stay in touch with fellow professionals and to enhance their understanding to local medical and social systems. With all these effort, SHK CIC aims to achieve a diverse and harmonious community in Salford or greater area.
