Salford Deaf Advocacy Service provides: (i) bespoke 1 to 1 support for hard of hearing, deaf, deafened and deaf blind people resident in Salford - growing their familiarity with and confidence in navigating their way through the health service architecture in the city with a view to improving their health, wellbeing and life chances; (ii) deaf-led CPD training for health professionals in the city in order that they are more deaf aware, better able to communicate and improve their provision for deaf inclusion; and (iii) capacity-building support to members of the deaf community in order that they are empowered to self-advocate and get engaged with the CCG's service improvement and innovation fora, ensuring that the deaf community's perspective is taken account of in service design/redesign/innovation going forward - for their benefit and that of their peers.
