Organisation description: Humans MCR identify and respond to the root causes of food poverty. We are a start-up charity working across Greater Manchester, and our main service at the moment is our food-bank on wheels. Since March, we have delivered over 25,000 meals to people living in poverty, and we have no plans to stop. We have recently began a holiday hunger project which sees us providing 100 meals per day to children over the school holidays.
Our future plans involve tackling food poverty using a 360-degree perspective and recognition that the needs of every service user are different. One of these plans is our Urban Gardening project. We will educate around sustainability and making the most of your ingredients and minimising waste, offering resources for those on low incomes to take an active role in the health of their family by growing produce in their own homes or gardens. We also plan to introduce Teatime Team once restrictions lift; a regular evening meal for children in low-income areas who are in receipt of free school meals.
Please see our website for details of all our current and past campaigns.
