Songbirds Music UK CIC (SMUK) deliver innovative music programmes in health, disability and community settings. We work with children, young people and families affected by medical conditions, hospitalisation and disability and have over 25 years' experience in our field. Our work focuses on using music to enable communication, interaction and creativity for children and young people with additional needs. We also compose music for improved wellbeing for use in hospital environments. SMUK advocate for the importance of music in the lives of children, families, hospital and care staff- who all experience the challenges of health and disability, and health inequality. Our work builds on an already established track record of delivering high quality, long term embedded live music practice within hospital settings supported by research and evaluation. We work in close partnership with stakeholders, staff and families to deliver high quality best practice music programmes and training which enrich, enhance and improve the lives of children experiencing hospitalisation and complex disability across the northwest. We’re proud that our work has received regional and national recognition:
