Organisation description: WFC Passed It is a recently constituted community group. We play walking football once each week at Clarendon Sports Centre. The group has brought together members of three Sporting Memories groups in Salford. These are based at Langworthy Cornerstone, Swinton Library and St Andrew's church in Eccles. Sporting Memories is a nation charity that supports older people, people living with dementia and their carers.
Our group is made up of older people, men and women, people living with dementia, their carers, two people with learning difficulties who live in supported accommodation in Salford and their carers.
We have ben supported since March of 2019 by the Ambition for Aging Project. Our funding ends in March 2020. Lancashire County Cricket Club have provided two trainee coaches to support and referee our games.
The oldest member of the group is 80, the youngest is 64. However, we have encouraged the older members to bring along family members and now have three generations meeting, playing and interacting.
