Organisation description: At Scorpio Community Development we want to enable young people to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh Award whilst offering a wider opportunity to gain life skills and a CV filling experience to increase employability.
What do we do differently?
• We offer Ofqual accredited qualifications as part of the training (dependant on module selection)
• Every participant gets a KEWAP certificate following safety training around lone traveller safety and anti-knife crime training. (Included at no extra cost)
• Every participant receives CV and interview training (Included at no extra cost)
• Extended support to complete the award, not just the expedition.
• Links with Voluntary organisations to gain experience within various arenas.
• Extended qualified instructors to give enhanced activities that would usually be out of reach.
The benefit to your establishment:
Award provided via competent and experienced trainers.
Limited impact on curriculum time.
Reduced demand on teaching staff.
Increased opportunity for young people within your establishment.
A meaningful knife crime reduction initiative for your young people.
Every young person will receive first aid training with a qualification upon successful assessment.
We also provide mental health, resilience and personal safety training to keep everyone safe in these strange times.
