Organisation description: Boothstown Repair Cafe is a free meeting place and is all about repairing things (together). The Repair Cafe has a number of local volunteers with repair skills in different fields. Visitors bring their broken items from home and together with the volunteers learn how to make repairs to the items.
The volunteers share their knowledge and expertise so it isn't forgotten, and the visitors learn new skills. Everybody make new friends and acquaintances so the community benefits from improved social inclusion. The environment also benefits because we send less waste to landfill and recycling plants.
The Repair Cafe aims to change peoples mindset and kindle enthusiasm for a more sustainable society while showing how often it can often be easy to repair something.
