Organisation description: Music in Hospitals & Care was founded in 1948 for the benefit of people with an illness or a disability in hospitals through the provision of professional, patient-focused interactive music concerts. Since then we have evolved to include provision of concerts across the healthcare spectrum, including care homes, hospices, special needs schools, day centres and outreach concerts.
The charity provides a unique service delivering professional concerts to people who have limited access to live music due to their situation. We believe that professional arts are necessary for community health in mainstream society, and that those with an illness or a disability should also have access to – and can benefit the most from - stimulating, life affirming and inspiring arts events.
