Organisation description: The objects of the CIO are:
• The prevention or relief of poverty in Greater Manchester by providing: items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.
• The promotion of racial ethnic harmony for the public benefit by:
(a) promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between different ethnic groups;
(b) advancing education and raising awareness about different ethnic groups to promote good relations between them;
(c) working towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity.
• To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare in recreation of leisure time occupation for individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their age, gender and disability, the social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.
• To promote and protect the physical and mental health primarily, but not exclusively of the African migrant community of Greater Manchester through the provision of support, education and practical advice.
