Organisation description: The Swinton Lions Community Sports Foundation is a registered charity (CIO), with links to Swinton Lions Rugby League Club which in 2016 celebrated a remarkable 150th Anniversary. Our core objectives are education, health, heritage and amateur sport, using sport as a medium of delivery. We provide coaching and other structured activities (primarily for the benefit of school children in the Swinton and Salford area), to help improve physical and mental well-being, and encourage civic pride. We have positive working relationships with the Swinton High School, several Swinton and Salford Primary Schools, Edstart, the Wood Street Mission, Swinton Age UK, Salford City Council and the Rugby Football League. We are a relatively young charity (registered in June 2016), which is actively seeking to widen its reach across Swinton and Salford for the benefit of the Community as a whole, and in doing so enhance the good name of Swinton Lions.
