We are a local voluntary group working, with The Chat Moss Project and the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, to restore this 115 Hectares previous peat extraction site. We want to promote the care and rehabilitation of this rare example of Lowland Raised Bog and its associated wildlife. We are currently a semi-independent group working with Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
Our broad objectives are:
Restoration, ongoing maintenance, and community engagement.
We believe that our group can contribute to community cohesion, education and healthy lifestyles.
Our group was constituted in July 2016, and so we are in a formative stage: we have not yet decided on detailed activities.
We meet on the first Tuesday of each moth, 6.45 pm start.
Venue: The Community Room, Irlam and Cadishead College, MacDonald Road, Irlam. This room seats about 15 persons.
