As a Sea Cadet you can go to sea, learn to sail and do adventure training, plus get extra skills to give you a great head start in life.
City of Salford Sea Cadets have been a continuous presence in the city since 1936 making us one of the oldest youth organisations to serve the young people of Salford. We are based in Worsley but our cadets come from across the City, and from a range of backgrounds. We take part in a huge range of activities ranging from sailing and rowing to climbing and archery. Trips on warships and making cakes. Our focus is on developing our cadets sense of self confidence, self discipline and motivation, all whilst having great fun, and trying new things. Cadets from Salford have gone on to do Charity work in Africa, join the Royal Marines, work as dental nurses, be desk officers in the Merchant Navy, become a captain in the Royal Navy, be a full time parents, study at University.
We are constantly on the lookout for new cadets ranging in age from 10 years to 18 years old and new volunteers, whether you can spare a day as a one-off, or you want to get involved on a regular basis, come and talk to us and see how you can help give something back to the young people in your community.
