Aim of Session
To give workers in the voluntary and community sector a basic yet effective awareness of how to adequately safeguard and protect children.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this sessions learners will achieve the following Learning outcomes:
- LO1 To consider the current context of Working Together to Safeguard Children
- LO2 To understand that each agency shares a common goal, and to reflect on your own responsibility
- LO3 To increase knowledge and understanding of legislation, policy, and procedure of safeguarding children
- LO 4 To understand the importance of recording information, and how to make a referral
- LO5 To understand the impact of working with trauma on practitioners and the importance of self-care
Target Audience
Staff and volunteers working in the VCSE sector who provide support, information advice and guidance or activities to children and young adults on a regular basis.

- Hearing loop at the ground floor reception
- Higher and lower counters at the ground floor reception
- Lifts to all floors
- Portable hearing loop available
