Introduction to Volunteer Management

The aim of this course is
To introduce participants to current Best Practice in Volunteer Management by presenting 4 clear stages to a successful Volunteer Programme: Volunteer Policy and planning; recruitment; development and support; and retention.

This course will help you to
• Plan a Volunteer Program

• Create and sell motivating
volunteering opportunities

• Understand tried and tested methods to attract a diverse group of volunteers

• Implement legal and safe volunteering procedures

• Identify different ways to provide rewarding volunteer experiences

Who should attend?
Anyone new to Volunteer Management or those wanting to re-fresh their knowledge and practice.

Trainer profile
Maggie Murdoch has 30 years experience as a trainer and adult educator in the adult, voluntary and community sector. Over the last 4 years, Maggie has specialised in best practice in Volunteer Management. As a volunteer herself, she has given time to a range of organisations, including the Red Cross, and Paws for Kids, and she currently volunteers for Stockport Link.

Assessment and certification
A certificate of attendance will be awarded to each course participant.
