Organisation description: LPA Theatre is a drama company that specialise in Applied Theatre, making shows and workshops for and with schools, community groups and venues. The company works with a verity of client groups on a long term basis ; from realising Shakespeare plays with primary aged children, to puppetry training with community groups. Other projects include the delivery of reminiscence theatre workshops with Dementia suffers and their families.
We also create shows in partnership, for example our healthy lifestyle show 'Granddads Eating Rubbish' was made in partnership with the Co-Operative Academy in Middleton. Or 'The Hunt for the Giggle' about positive mental health with Oldham council. We also supple story telling sessions.
We are a small scale company with three full time members as well as freelancers with specific specialism in: Musical Theatre, Theatre for Development, Early Years theatre, Political Theatre, Youth Theatre, Theatre in Education. All members are trained to degree level in Drama and Theatre.
We work with some of the most deprived communities in the UK and abroad including: South Asian Migrant Children, Young People at risk, Eastern European migrants, Refugees and people living with HIV.
