Volunteer Week 2014

This year was the 30th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week and Volunteer Centre Salford and Salford CVS made the most of the week to celebrate all things volunteering!!

The theme for 2014 was Time to Say Thank You, a chance to show appreciation and recognise local volunteers in communities and challenge people to take part. Salford CVS and Volunteer Centre Salford thanked their volunteers with cake and decorated cupcakes to show appreciation for the 37,000 volunteers in Salford. See our Pinterest board below for more photos of the Volunteers' Week celebrations.

To recognise the 30th anniversary Volunteer Centre Salford ‘tweeted’ 30 benefits of volunteering using #volunteersweek. You can now view benefits 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 on our Storify pages.

We also ran Operation Volunteer ‘Selfie’ during Volunteers' Week, a fun way to celebrate volunteers by encouraging them to tweet pictures of themselves volunteering. You can view the selfies by visiting @VCSalford1 or searching for #salfordvolunteerselfie.

The Volunteer Centre were also out and about promoting volunteering in Salford. Celebrations culminated in a surprise volunteer flash mob dance in Eccles with the dance and performance group Mature Movers.
