About Us

OnSide has one simple aim: to build a network of 21st century Youth Zones, giving young people safe and inspiring places to go in their leisure time; see what this means at https://youtu.be/Yb18h1TPRNE.  We have over 30,000 young people who are members of the ten open Youth Zones, with the next phase of openings to include three Youth Zones in London.  Youth Zones are open seven days a week, with state-of-the-art facilities for a wide range of sporting, artistic and recreational activities.  OnSide has already raised £100 million of funding and is now one of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal Charities in London.

The Role

This is a rewarding role, working with the local caretaking teams at our Youth Zone buildings, all newly built and having a capital project value of £6 million.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use their facilities management experience to provide support and advice to staff in our Youth Zone network, together with managing the phased handover to and training of staff at newly constructed Youth Zones as they come on-line.  The role will also have responsibility for coordinating compliance with statutory requirements and negotiating commercial facilities maintenance contracts across the Youth Zone network as it grows.

The Person

You will have a minimum of five years’ experience in facilities management of buildings across multiple sites, experience of organising maintenance regimes and health and safety compliance, and knowledge of computerised building management systems.  With excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, you are organised, flexible and thorough in your work. You are a team player who can also work independently and are proficient in the use of IT and MS Office software packages.

The strength of the OnSide Network of Youth Zones is the diversity of its people; we place huge value on different people doing things in different ways and we welcome applications from what might be considered non-traditional backgrounds. The one thing we all have in common is our desire to raise the aspirations of young people across the country.  OnSide is also committed to the safeguarding of young people.
