Collaborating with over 550 amazing member students’ unions, we provide a huge range of services and support to them. With over 220 creative NUS colleagues working together every day to support elected student leaders - as they make change in the world and improve the lives of students - we help make it happen!

More widely, you’ll get involved in a whole host of HR project work – supporting our Race Equity and wider Culture work.

Who you are

  • Someone who is totally at home managing cases and advising managers on their options
  • You’ll have plenty of experience of a range of core employee relations matters – feeling confident advising on grievance, disciplinary, performance improvement etc.
  • You’re brimming with ideas on how we can promote employee health and wellbeing – being comfortable advising on reasonable adjustments and stress management
  • Someone who puts customers at the heart of your approach, so you’ll be passionate about developing high quality HR policies and guidance
  • You’ll be excited about coaching our managers and helping to enhance their management skills and capability.
  • Your personal values will mean you are passionate about developing your knowledge and skills with the wider People and Talent team especially around diversity, liberation and racial justice.

Why apply?

In return for your passion and experience we offer the flexibility for work-life balance, a competitive salary for the non-profit sector and excellent holidays and benefits.

We’re absolutely open to considering requests for job-share or a range of different part-time working options and patterns.

We’re committed to equality of opportunity for all. We welcome applications from individuals regardless of their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, gender, or disability.

You can be yourself here whoever you are, be proud of the work you do and build a career in a place that knows different is good.
