What is the research about?
This study aims to understand why some young people who are not in employment, education or training do not claim benefits, and how local services can better support them.
We are looking for 20 young people to take part in a research interview. The project will provide recommendations for better and more effective services for young people in the future.
The research is funded by Salford City Council, but is being conducted by independent researchers from the University of Salford.
How do I take part?
If you would like to take part, we will arrange an interview at a time, date and location suitable for you. In the interview we will ask you about any experiences you have of engaging in employment, education or training, your future aspirations and any barriers to achieving your goals. We will also ask about any previous experiences you may have had claiming benefits and accessing any other support, and ask you why you are not claiming benefits.
Interviews will last no more than one hour. You do not have to talk about anything you don't want to discuss and you can stop being involved in the research at any time. Interviews are confidential. Your name will not be used in any published reports and we will not pass your details on to anybody else.
As a thank you for taking part you will receive a £10 shopping voucher.
