Children, Young People and Families in Salford
This page contains information about all the Salford CVS programmes that work with children, young people and families in Salford.
Family Hubs
Salford CVS is working in partnership with Local Family Hubs to develop a network of Family Hub Champions to volunteer their time in the Family Hubs, with both Early Help services and local community, voluntary and social enterprise groups.
Family Hubs are Early Help centres based in your local community, offering universal support and services for children, young people and families aged 0-25. Services offered include antenatal, child’s health, early help, parenting support, baby socials and more. Along with four Family Hubs in different neighbourhoods, we also have 6 Youth Centres, which offer a wide range of services including youth clubs, drop-in programmes, project work, youth forums, and more.
We want the Family Hubs to have a real presence in the local community, and we want local communities to feel proud and involved with their local hubs. The best way of achieving this is through working with local volunteers and local community groups. We want to bring the amazing skills and services that exist in Salford into the Hubs and use them to offer people and groups a place to meet, work, and collaborate together for their communities.
Family Hub Champions are volunteers who feel passionately about improving services for children, young people and families in Salford, and will work together, share ideas and support local families with their experiences of parenting and being parented. There are a variety of roles available for Family Hub Champions, and we are flexible about the amount of time you commit to this role.
If you’d like to volunteer in a Family Hub, please see below for the current active volunteering roles:
There will also be future opportunities including short-term volunteering placements with local families, children and young people organisations and opportunities to research what’s currently available in Salford for children, young people and families, and co-design new volunteer opportunities at the hubs that you think the local community would benefit from. You will be given a role description for any role you sign up for as a Family Hub Champion.
You can sign up to be a Family Hub Champion here.
If you have any questions about volunteering in the Family Hubs, please contact Ella Saltiel (the Volunteering Worker for Family Hubs) via email or phone: 07529224209, Ella.saltiel@salfordcvs.co.uk
